I work where thinking and feeling are inseparable — because that’s how people actually experience the world, and how art works when it’s honest.
I’m Olivera Mattioni, an art director, visual designer, and illustrator with over 25 years of experience, working under the name Oli Poppins. My practice moves across books, editorial, illustration, and visual systems, often blending writing, drawing, and design into a single voice.
I work end to end: concept, text, illustration, and layout. I’m interested in projects where clarity matters more than polish, where intelligence is trusted, and where nothing needs to be over-explained.
My work often deals with human psychology — not academically, but practically. How people read. Where they pause. What they feel before they know what to think. If the thinking is precise, the feeling follows.
Recent projects include The Unfooled™ and the lifelift™ publishing system — long-form, reader-respecting work built around space, silence, and attention.
